Karaehe Kaewa: Virtual Education Visit

Karaehe Kaewa is an educator-led virtual visit to Parliament.  Walk in the shoes of our MPs and explore Parliament in Wellington, without even leaving your classroom!

In this virtual education visit, students will be working with an educator to learn how Parliament works and how they can participate in social action at Parliament - “inside” the very rooms where our laws are formed.  

This visit follows the structure of our onsite education programmes and is available to you wherever you are in the country.  It’s important all rangatahi can learn about Parliament and our country’s democracy, no matter where they live in Aotearoa New Zealand. This programme will bring Parliament to classrooms across our motu. 

Some of the spaces we can show on our “visit” during the programme are: 

• House of Representatives (Debating Chamber)
• A select committee room
• Theatrette (press conference room)
• Parliamentary Library
